Brazil - Japan, literature united by a few words: from haiku to haicai/senryu
Abstract
The aim of this research is not a theoretical/historical deepening of haiku and its representatives such as Bashô,
Buson, Issa, Leminski, Guilherme de Almeida but a comparative study of the rules that were and are used to write Japanese
haiku. It tries to show what extent the texts produced by Brazilian writers approach the classic Japanese form. As a theoretical
basis, we utilized the study of Professor Paulo Franchetti in his book Haikai: anthology and history (2012).
