Three essays on clinic structures: filmic metaphors
Keywords:
Psychoanalysis. Clinic structures. Movie.Abstract
The cinematographic universe offers opportunities and limitations for the understanding of clinical structures, through characters that, in their scenarios and ways of being, represent neurotic, psychotic and perverse singularities. This essay aims to analyze symptoms and structural features in four “cases”: Adam Jones, in Burnt (2015); Arthur Fleck, in Joker (2019); Kevin Khatchadourian, in We Need to Talk about Kevin (2011); and Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, in Perfume: history of a murderer (2006). It also proposes to reflect on the possible parallels between life and art (cinematographic) as a didactic strategy for the academic teaching of Psychoanalysis, in its playful and critical potential.
