Abstract

This article aims to deconstruct prejudice and religious intolerance, in relation to african-based religions.
It is the result of studies and research carried out in the school environment of four children who live in terreiros.
It was prepared based on the bibliographic review of authors such as Freire, Caputo, Silva and many others. Studies
indicate that religious intolerance in the school context is the result of prejudice in the Brazilian society we live in
today, despite the presence of legal instruments such as the Constitution, the Penal Code and the Law of Guidelines
and Bases for National Education - LDB, even knowing that education is independent of religion and that school
is portrayed as an environment for socialization. Emphasizing that the purpose of this article is not to prioritize
any religion, but to express the freedom, respect and right to dignity of the other.
